The XR Super Series, now in its third season, continues to adjust to market conditions and opportunities. After a thrilling Spring Thaw opener at Volunteer Speedway a number of dates have been added.
With challenging spring weather delaying the opening night for the track, excessive travel for teams, and conflicting events, the Minnesota Mega at Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, MN, set for May 16-18, has been moved to a triple header through Minnesota and Wisconsin. On Monday July 1 the series will return with the 3rd Annual Superior Showdown at Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, WI. On Tuesday July 2 the tour will continue a short twenty minute drive back across the Twin Ports for a tilt at Proctor Speedway in Proctor, MN. The mini tour will continue 1.5 hours down I35 for the Minnesota Mega at Ogilvie Raceway on July 3 for a $50,000-to-WIN independence day primer on that Wednesday night.
The fireworks continue the following week with the Bacon Town Showdown at Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, MN on Monday, July 8. The next night the series will travel to the famed Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, IA on Tuesday, July 9. To cap off the July midweek madness we will see a Wednesday Night showdown at Mason City Motor Speedway on July 10, 2024.
A Thursday night date has been added to the Mason Dixon 100 at Pennsboro Speedway on October 24, 2024. With unseasonable weather and a flood affecting the track rebuild this will serve as the return to racing for the West Virginia dirt track institution. Additional information will be released on this event at a later time.
To cap the season the XR Super Series will battle to the finish at The Gobbler from Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN on November 23, 2024.
XR Events has been working feverishly behind the scenes with its tracks to build a travel smart and efficient schedule for competing teams and drivers. In a world decimated by inflation our goal is optimization of available dates, routes, travel, and purses. Currently the 2024 XR Super Series has 23 scheduled dates, most ever in the history of the tour. More dates may be adjusted or added to compliment the regional and national dirt late model schedules. Events now pay a minimum of $15,000 to WIN with a number of $50,000 to WIN dates on the docket. 2024 Championship Points are calculated from the best 10 finishes from the entire schedule of events, perfect attendance is not necessary. $50,000 will go to the champion.
