XR Super Series Race Format

Updated March 28, 2024

SUPER LATE MODEL FORMAT:

Series officials and venue management will be mindful of time spent on XRSS’ portion of their events. It is critical that you be on time for registration, drivers meetings, autograph sessions, and lining up for on-track events (hot laps, qualifying, heat races, features, and etc.). If a driver misses his/her staging time for an on-track, the event will begin as scheduled, and the driver will forfeit their starting position.

It is the team’s responsibility to notify XRSS officials that you are having problems and can not be on time.

REGISTRATION/DRAW:

  • All drivers must register each day even for a multi-day event.
  • Each day’s initial draw will determine the qualifying order for Time Trials/Qualifying for that day’s events.

QUALIFYING:

  • If there are 32 or more cars, the XRSS Qualifying Format will utilize a Multi Group Qualifying Format (Group A & Group B).
  • If less than 32 cars, the XRSS Qualifying Format will utilize a Single Group Qualifying Format.
  • If there are 24 cars or less, all cars will qualify for the Main Event.
  • The above numbers may be adjusted due to track size and/or track conditions.
  • Time Trials/Qualifying Results will determine the starting lineups for Heat Races.
  • Any competitor failing to qualify in their respective position (as determined by the draw) will have the option to qualify last, however they may only qualify as high as 50% of the group +2 positions.

HEAT RACES:

  • The number of XRSS Heat Races will be based on overall car count.
  • If three Heat Races:
    • Qualifying will utilize a single group qualifying format.
    • Top six finishers transfer to the Main Event.
    • All other cars will move to one B-Main event and line up based on Heat Race finish.
  • If four Heat Races:
    • Qualifying will utilize a multi group qualifying format.
      • Group A will be filtered into Heats 1 & 2.
      • Group B will be filtered into Heats 3 & 4.
    • Top four finishers transfer to the Main Event.
    • All other cars will move to one or two B-Main events and line up based on Heat Race finish.
  • If six Heat Races:
    • Qualifying will utilize a multi group qualifying format.
      • Group A will be filtered into Heats 1, 2, & 3.
      • Group B will be filtered into Heats 4, 5, & 6.
    • Top three finishers transfer to the Main Event.
    • All other cars will move to one or two B-Main events and line up based on Heat Race finish.

B-MAINS:

  • If three Heat Races are run:
    • All non-qualifiers from Heat Races into one B-Main.
    • Top four finishers in Each B-Main will transfer to the Main Event.
  • If four Heat Races are run:
    • Non-Qualifiers from Heat Races 1 & 2 will be filtered into B-Main 1.
    • Non-Qualifiers from Heat Races 3 & 4 will be filtered into B-Main 2.
